Glue boards are ideal for dry and dusty areas, such as garages, attics, storage rooms, warehouses, etc. They are ideal for insects and mice and generally not as recommended for rats, though some boards designed to target rats such as our 30R do exist and are for sale on our website and Amazon. The larger the board and the thicker the glue layer, the more suited it is to catching rats.
Glue trays are designed for wet, moist, damp, or humid environments. They have a thicker glue layer, use a different glue type from our boards, and do a better job of staying in place compared to boards. They are versatile and can catch insects, mice, and rats, though the 5" x 10" and 9" x 9" XL trays (424XL) are exceptionally good for rat capture. The best locations for glue trays are basements, bathrooms, kitchens, enclosed outdoor areas like porches or sheds, etc.
