There are a few reasons why your traps might seem dried up:
- Exposure to direct sunlight or intense UV light. Make sure to keep glue traps out of direct sunlight; even sunlight streaming through a window onto a trap can dry them out in a few days' time. Shade is their friend!
- Exposure to cold temps (below 50 degrees Fahrenheit). Reheating the glue to the standard range will allow it to regain its stickiness.
- Extreme temperature fluctuations from very hot or very cold and vice versa can alter the glue's chemical structure over time and make it look dried out and hamper its effectiveness.
